Risk Factors as a Component of the Technology of Physical Rehabilitation in Osteoarthritis
Keywords:
osteoarthritis, risk factors, physical rehabilitationAbstract
The article analyses the risk factors of development of osteoarthritis (OA). It is established that the development OA of different localization is associated with the interaction of genetic and environmental factors. Endogenous risk factors include age, sex, developmental defects and hereditary predisposition. Exogenous risk factors include injuries, obesity and excessive stress on joints which are proven risk factors for OA, but their different roles are also noted in case of different localization of the disease. Depending on sex and age, their influence is not unambiguous. It is noted that an important role of trauma in the etiology of OA is recognized by many researchers, but OA cannot be unambiguously recognized as a post-traumatic disease. Specialists of physical rehabilitation in development of rehabilitation programs for patients with degenerative-dystrophic joint diseases should take into account the risk factors of development of the disease, and the rehabilitation programs should be adjusted taking into account the risk factors.
