Еxamination as a Functional Subsystem of Physical Rehabilitation / Therapy in Disorders of the Musculoskeletal System

The examination is an integral component of physical rehabilitation/therapy in disorders of the musculoskeletal system. The contents of the examination are interpreted in different ways. Objectives: to determine and disclose the structure of the examination as a functional subsystem of physical rehabilitation/therapy in disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Research methods: literature analysis, system analysis and synthesis, methods of analogies, abstraction and generalization. Results. Physical rehabilitation / therapy is seen as a system-process that consists of four functional subsystems. Observation is done to identify possible movement problems and find solutions. Questioning is conducted with the goal to make the history of movement disorders. Testing and measuring allows to describe disorders and to localize the structures that cause them. The goal of the analysis of the collected data is to determine the volume/amount of violations of movement function and activity. Conclusions. The examination is a functional subsystem that aims to identify violations of movement function and activity. To do this, physical therapist must consistently achieve the goals of observation, questioning; testing and measuring, analyzing the collected data.
