Differences of Functional Possibilities of Boxers Depending on Peculiarities of Their Competitive Activity

Abstract

Different conditions of the training process, preparation, motivation for boxers according to the AOB, APB and WSB dictate different requirements to the level of functional capability of boxers. Therefore, the objective of this study was to determine the influence of the basic characteristics of functional preparedness of boxers on the peculiarities of manifestation of the general and special working capacity of athletes in amateur, semi-professional and professional boxing.

It was applied the methods of determining of the general and special working capacity of boxers and also it was analyzed the reaction of the cardiorespiratory system during performance of loads of various characters. It was exposed the differences among qualified boxers who perform in different versions of boxing tournaments (AOB, WSB, professionals) according to the level of general and special endurance, as well as according to the level of aerobic and anaerobic organisms’ possibilities.

These differences also affect the character of competitive activity of boxers - the density of a fight, effectiveness of protective actions, effectiveness of attacking actions of boxers. In the future it is planned to determine the way the level and peculiarities of the structure of functional preparedness of boxers influence the formation of the style of boxing combat.
