Abstract

Relevance of the work. Today Ukraine is one of the world leaders in the implementation of Olympic education in the educational process. However, educational activities, involvement of teachers and parents to educate children of the ideals of Olympism is a topical issue. Objectives of the work. Justification of the social significance of introduction of Olympic education in the educational process of secondary schools. The results of the work. Joining the young generation to the ideals and values of Olympism is a serious socio-pedagogical problem. Its solution requires at least the formation of children and young people: strong, deep knowledge of Olympism and the Olympic Movement, their history and present state; forming a real focus on compliance with the ideals and values of Olympism in everyday life. Conclusions. The basis of the modern Olympic sport laid accepted humanistic values. Introduction of Olympic education in the learning process is an effective means of educating the healthy, active, purposeful person.
