Sectional Model of Organization of Students’ Physical Education in Higher Educational Institutions (on the Example of Table Tennis)

The paper presents the data of the analysis of existing approaches to organization of the sectional model of the educational process in physical education of student youth in higher educational institutions. To solve the research tasks, the following methods were used: theoretical analysis and generalization of scientific and methodological literature and documentary materials, comparative method, logical-theoretical analysis, pedagogical and sociological methods of research, and methods of mathematical statistics. The study involved 673 students from 8 higher educational institutions of Ukraine. It was established that table tennis is very popular among student youth. The analysis of possibility of introducing table tennis into the sectional work of students made it possible to establish that there are proper conditions (including organizational, logistical and human resources) for organizing such classes in higher education institutions. At the same time, additional attention should be paid to the program and methodological provision of this activity (development of the program of table tennis classes), because of insufficient theoretical substantiation and inadequate efficiency of existing developments.
