Abstract

The paper analyses the approaches to the correction of risk factors for cardiovascular diseases by means of health-improving and recreational physical activity. Based on the study of the special scientific-methodological literature and normative documents through the use of abstraction, logic-theoretical analysis, and comparative analysis the modern data and best world experience concerning the prevalence of risk factors for cardiovascular diseases among adult men were examined along with the approaches for and appropriateness of their correction by means of health-improving and recreational physical activity. It was found that regular exercise with adequate loads extends functional and adaptive reserves of the most important body systems of adult people and help to reduce risk. It is noted that the predominant approaches to the correction of factors for developing cardiovascular diseases is regular use of physical exercise lasting at least 30–45 minutes 4–5 times a week. The use of mixed aerobic-anaerobic exercise training under dosed application causes favorable shifts in the function of the cardiovascular system, and thus application of such exercises in programs of health-improving and recreational physical activity is more appropriate.
